The course provides students with practical knowledge and skill of collecting, processing, analysing and interpreting empirical multivariate data as related to social-science disciplines. During the course, students will be equipped with an understanding of social research at methodological, theoretical, and practical levels to multivariate analysis of variance (ANOVA / MANOVA / ANCOVA), factor / cluster / discriminant and repeated-mesures analyses. The course is more practice-oriented, where students will use the statistical package of SPSS and Eviews to carry out comprehensive statistical analyses.

Aim of this course is to introduce students with key theoretical achievements in the scientific field of leadership - leaders and leaders working with a team. Nowadays, leadership theory is one of the leading research dimension in the field of social science, as it allows rethinking organizational and traditional theories. This course addresses leadership as an approach to study formation of individuals as a part of the group, their survival, growth, relationship between organizations and members of organization, resource generation and management and other external and internal factors.


Text is one of the richest and most underutilized sources of data. It contains information that is not included in traditional data sources. In this course, students will learn the major techniques for mining and analyzing text data. In particular, the participants will have possibility to learn text classification, clustering, topic modeling and text summarization as well as sentiment analysis and opinion mining.

The course equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to plan and design research at a doctoral level. It develops deep and comprehensive understanding of research methodology and methods for the specific field. Students learn how to plan a research project in order to explore vulnerable and urgent issues. They have a close look at the structure of research, major requirements of academic language and logical cohesion of a research project. Students acquire competence for novice researchers and young scholars.
